Men’s Burton Step On® X Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings
Who is it for? The Burton Step On® X Re:Flex is a men’s snowboard binding for riders who want the speed and convenience of Step On® in a more responsive, stiffer, and more powerful version. It is a good choice for intermediate and advanced snowboarders who ride dynamically, want strong board control, enjoy faster groomers, carving, and all-mountain riding with extra precision.
Step On® in a more precise X version
The Step On® system lets you connect your boot to the binding without traditional straps. The design uses three connection points – two at the toe and one at the heel – to lock the boot securely in place and maintain direct board control. In the X version, the binding gets a stiffer, more responsive feel thanks to a carbon-blend baseplate and hi-back.
Re:Flex™ – natural board feel and broad compatibility
The Re:Flex™ mounting system helps improve natural board flex underfoot and gives a more direct snowboard feel. These bindings are compatible with current 4x4, 2x4, and Burton The Channel® mounting systems. That means you can use them with most modern snowboards while keeping the convenience of Step On® and the stronger, more precise feel of the X version.

Frequently Asked Questions – Burton Step On® X Re:Flex
Do Burton Step On® X bindings work with regular snowboard boots?
No. Burton Step On® X bindings work only with Step On® snowboard boots. You need compatible Burton Step On® boots or other boots clearly marked as compatible with the Step On® system. Compatible boots are available here: men’s Step On® snowboard boots.
What is the difference between Step On® X and regular Step On® Re:Flex bindings?
Step On® X is stiffer and more responsive. The carbon-blend baseplate and hi-back create faster energy transfer, stronger response, and more precise board control. Regular Step On® Re:Flex bindings are more versatile and slightly easier-going, while Step On® X is better for more dynamic riding.
Do Step On® X bindings fit every snowboard?
The Re:Flex™ version is compatible with most current snowboard mounting systems, including 4x4, 2x4, and Burton The Channel®. If you have an older Burton board with the 3D mounting system, you need additional 3D Hinge Discs, which are not included with the bindings. You can find them here: BURTON 3D DISKS.
How do I choose the right Step On® X binding size?
Step On® binding size must match your Step On® boot size. Correct sizing is especially important in the Step On® system because the boot connects directly to the binding’s engagement points. Check the size chart before purchase and choose the binding size that matches your exact boot size.
Is Step On® stable without traditional straps?
Yes. Step On® uses three connection points – two at the toe and one at the heel. This locks the boot securely into the binding and gives the rider board control without traditional straps.
Who is the Step On® X system best for?
Step On® X is best for riders who want fast strapless entry, but also expect a stiffer, more precise, and more dynamic binding. It is a good choice for faster groomer riding, carving, and stronger all-mountain performance.
