Clew Independence 1.0 Snowboard Bindings

The new generation of Clew bindings: lighter, stronger, indestructible.

Clew has developed new bindings for the 2025/2026 season, built on the same principle as the previous Freedom 1.0 model. However, the Independence 1.0 features a brand-new design and is 20% lighter than its predecessor, with improved cushioning, canting, new metal hooks on the highback, and reinforced straps.

The official release is scheduled for October 2025.

One click is all it takes to enjoy stability and a perfect board connection—without sitting down, kneeling, or adjusting straps. This system is the ideal choice for riders who value comfort and efficiency on the slopes.

How Does the Clew Step-In System Work?

The Clew Step-In system is extremely intuitive. After securing the highback on the boot and fastening the upper strap, the baseplate and lower strap remain fixed to the board. To engage, simply step your heel into the binding for an instant, solid connection. The lower strap can be tightened as needed for a custom fit. Exiting the binding is just as simple—pull the red handle on the highback and lift your heel. This mechanism provides not only speed but also unmatched comfort compared to traditional bindings.
