Frequently Asked Questions
Do CLEW bindings require special snowboard boots?
No. CLEW bindings are compatible with standard soft snowboard boots. You do not need to purchase special footwear designed exclusively for Step-In systems.
How does the CLEW Step-In system work?
The system allows you to step into and out of the bindings quickly without sitting down in the snow. Once the straps are adjusted to your boots, simply step into the binding to engage the mechanism. To release your boot, operate the release handle on the highback.
Are CLEW bindings compatible with every snowboard?
CLEW bindings are compatible with the most common mounting systems, including 4x4, 4x2 and Burton Channel. Older snowboards with a 3D mounting system may require a separately available mounting disc.
How do I choose the right size of CLEW bindings?
Choose your binding size according to your snowboard boot size and shape, using the manufacturer's size chart. If you are between sizes, check the length and width of your boot's outsole to ensure a proper fit.
Can the straps on CLEW bindings be adjusted?
Yes. The ankle and toe straps can be adjusted without tools, making it easy to fit the bindings to your boots. Before riding, make sure your boots are held securely without overtightening the straps.
How should I maintain the entry mechanism on CLEW bindings?
Regularly remove snow and ice from the mechanism and check that all components operate correctly. Before each day on the mountain, make sure the bindings are mounted securely and all mounting screws are tight.
