Description
Dakine Forecast MIPS Helmet
Protection, Comfort and a Secure Fit
The Dakine Forecast MIPS is a snow helmet designed to combine head protection, comfort and functionality. Its hybrid construction combines a durable outer shell with a lightweight in-mold construction, while the MIPS® system helps reduce rotational motion transmitted to the head during certain types of impacts.
The helmet also features a dial-operated fit adjustment system, a Fidlock® magnetic buckle and a ventilation system with 14 active and 8 passive vents. The interior uses soft Polartec® Power Dry™ padding, while the removable ear pads are compatible with audio systems.
MIPS® Protection System
The Forecast features the MIPS® Brain Protection System. This technology is designed to help reduce rotational motion transferred to the head during certain types of impacts.
Hybrid Construction with Recycled Materials
The helmet construction combines polycarbonate and ABS. Dakine uses recycled materials in the outer shell, EPS liner and straps. This construction provides a durable design while keeping the helmet lightweight.
Ventilation and Comfort
The ventilation system includes 14 active and 8 passive vents, helping regulate temperature while riding. The open-cell Polartec® Power Dry™ interior provides comfort, while the removable ear pads allow the helmet to be adapted to different conditions and personal preferences.
Fidlock® and Fit Adjustment
The Fidlock® magnetic buckle allows the helmet to be fastened and released quickly with one hand. A dial-operated fit adjustment system makes it possible to fine-tune the fit around the head.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right size of the Dakine Forecast MIPS helmet?
The helmet size should be selected based on your head circumference. Measure around the widest part of your head, just above the eyebrows and ears, and compare the result with the manufacturer's size chart. The helmet should fit securely without causing pressure or discomfort.
How does the MIPS system work in the Dakine Forecast MIPS?
The MIPS® Brain Protection System is designed to help reduce rotational motion transferred to the head during certain types of impacts. The inner layer of the system can move relative to the helmet, helping to reduce rotational forces acting on the head.
Is the Dakine Forecast MIPS suitable for skiing?
Yes. The helmet is designed for both snowboarding and skiing. It is CE EN 1077:2007 Class B certified for helmets intended for use while skiing and snowboarding.
Is the helmet compatible with snowboard goggles?
Yes. The Dakine Forecast MIPS features a Strap Tracker goggle strap holder to help keep the goggle strap securely in place. It is still worth checking the fit between the specific goggle model and helmet before purchase.
Does the Dakine Forecast MIPS have a fit adjustment system?
Yes. The helmet features a dial-operated adjustment system that allows you to fine-tune the fit around the head. It also uses a Fidlock® magnetic buckle that can be operated with one hand.
When should a snowboard helmet be replaced?
A helmet should be replaced after a significant impact, even if there are no visible signs of damage. It is also recommended to replace a helmet after several years of use, following the manufacturer's recommendations, as protective materials can lose some of their properties over time.
