Nidecker Tape Deck 2027 Snowboard
The Nidecker Tape Deck 2027 snowboard is a freestyle true twin with traditional camber and a mid-stiff 6/10 flex on the shop’s scale, converted from the manufacturer’s 3/5 rating. Built around park and street riding, it combines lively pop with dependable edge support and a balanced feel when riding switch.
Nidecker Tape Deck – freestyle with an energetic response
A wide outline and steep tip kicks draw on 1990s snowboard shapes. Camber lets you load the board before an ollie and provides support through a turn. Tape Deck suits riders who actively work their board and want to use that stored energy on features and take-offs. Its mid-stiff feel offers more support than a soft jib board, while requiring deliberate pressure when holding a press.
Profile and shape on snow
Traditional camber supports edge grip and a springy rebound after loading. The true twin outline gives a balanced platform for riding both ways and practising switch landings. Steep nose and tail kicks reduce swing weight and help the ends engage during butters, presses and wallrides.
Construction and technologies
- Premium Sandwich – carbon reinforcement supports lively pop, edge response and vibration control.
- Light Core – poplar and paulownia keep weight down, with central beech stringers adding strength and rebound.
- Biax Plus – a reinforced 90-degree glass weave transfers input efficiently while retaining a freestyle-friendly character.
- Pop Carbon – carbon between the inserts and the tips adds energy to ollies and reduces unwanted chatter.
- Absorbnid – a vibration-damping topsheet helps take the edge off rough snow.
- N-7000 Hybrid – this carbon-enriched base combines properties of extruded and sintered constructions, accepting wax well with less demanding upkeep than a fully sintered base.
- 4×2/6 inserts – six rows of inserts spaced 2 cm apart allow stance-width adjustment.

Frequently asked questions
Who is Tape Deck for?
Riders developing their freestyle skills who can actively load a board and want the rebound of camber. Its design is focused on park features and street spots.
How does it ride switch?
The symmetrical true twin shape and centred stance provide a similar feel in both directions, helping with spins and switch landings.
Can I ride it on groomers?
Yes. Camber provides edge support and an energetic transition between turns, while freestyle remains the board’s main focus.
How should I choose board width?
Compare waist width with boot outsole length and binding angles. A W version has a wider waist; boot size alone does not determine toe and heel overhang.
Does the N-7000 Hybrid base need waxing?
Yes. Although upkeep is less demanding than with a typical sintered base, regular waxing helps maintain consistent glide and base condition.
